Etawah club’s connection issue pending

Etawah-auraiya News – A dispute has arisen between the Etawah Club and the Electricity Department regarding the electricity connection. The club has requested a new connection.

The club and the electricity department are at loggerheads over Etawah Club’s electricity connection. Etawah Club has asked for an electricity connection, but the department says that there is an outstanding bill of Rs 17 lakh 64 thousand, it should be paid and only after that a new connection will be provided. In this regard, the club’s vice-president Rajkumar Gupta has said that due to the electricity department not providing a new connection, the club’s social and sports activities have come to a halt. The garden is also not being irrigated. All work is dependent on the generator, but the electricity department officials say that the connection has not been cut yet.

Etawah Club Vice President Rajkumar Gupta also stated that the state government constructed a multipurpose hall, controlled by the District Sports Officer. The electricity department has now denied the connection, citing a bill of 176,400 rupees outstanding on the connection in the sports officer’s name. The vice president stated that since there is no connection in the club’s name, withholding a new connection based on past dues is unjustified. The matter will be brought to the attention of the Energy Minister. Hanuman Prasad Mishra, Executive Engineer of the Electricity Department, stated that the connection in the name of the sports officer has outstanding dues. Despite repeated notices, the outstanding amount has not been paid. Therefore, providing a new connection to the premises is impossible.
